PM Dr Man Mohan Singh said from Red fort on I-Day that “Terrorism, extremism, communalism and fundamentalism have emerged as major challenges to the unity and integrity of our country. The recent terrorist attacks in Bangalore, Ahmedabad, Jaipur and other parts of the country have shocked the nation". PM said further adds,"We will examine the functioning of our intelligence agencies and police and security forces and take all possible steps to equip them to tackle this challenge. Whatever resources are required, will be provided. Whatever manpower is required will be provided. We are firm in our resolve to meet the challenge of terrorism. I urge the State Governments, all political parties, civil society groups and social and religious leaders to cooperate with us in rooting out terrorism from our country". When this plan will take-off as all this needs many years of trainning and regular seminar and upgradation of the forces remains matter of concern for each and every Indian. Cordination between the centre,state and NGO remains totally inert. Law enforcing agencies investigation,their cordination,level of synchronising the communication with various offices is at low ebb and their methodology structure needs immediate attention of the best of professionalof our country and we must not look to import such professionalism. Modernisation of army,polie too depends on the development of nuclear trade with developed countries,Dr Singh said in this regards today, “The nuclear agreement that we are negotiating with developed countries will end India"s nuclear isolation. It will open up new opportunities for trade in dual-use technologies, opening up new pathways to accelerate industrialisation of our country," Singh said delivering his Independence Day address from the ramparts of the Red Fort in the Capital.
“It (the agreement) will enable us to provide electricity to meet the needs of our farmers, our artisans, our traders and our industry," Singh said. Addressing the nation from the ramparts of historic Red Fort on 62nd Independence Day, the Prime Minister said while the country has emerged among the fastest growing economies, it faces a challenge of inflation. “I know how much each one of you is concerned about the recent rise in prices… We are taking determined measures to bring prices under reasonable control," Singh said. |
