EC announce assembly poll in five states

Chief Election Commissioner N Gopalaswami said at a press conference flanked by the other two commissioners Naveen Chawla and S Y Quraishi announced the Election schedule on Tuesday one-day poll in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Delhi and Mizoram to go for polls in two phase.

Chattisgarh state
The two-phased polls in Chattisgarh will be held on 14th November and 20th November for total of ninty constituency.There are 20952 polling station in this state.

Mizoram and Delhi
Election in these two states are to be held on 29th November.Mizoram has 40 seats in assembly and Delhi has total number of 70 legislature assembly.There are 1,026 polling stations in Mizoram,and 10,849 in NCT of Delhi.

Rajasthan
On 4th December Rajasthan go to the polls of 200 members asembly with 42,212 polling station.
Madhya Pradesh
Elections for two hundred thirty members assembly with 46,812 Polling stations in Madhya Pradesh will be held on November 25.

Counting of votes in all the states will be taken up on 8th December.

Chief Election Commissioner N Gopalaswami said at a press conference flanked by the other two commissioners Naveen Chawla and S Y Quraishi has said the commission is still assessing the situation in Jammu and Kashmir."We will get back to you as soon as we take a decision in Jammu and Kashmir.

No decision has been taken “at the moment" on holding elections in Jammu and Kashmir which is now under Governor"s rule, Chief Election Commissioner N Gopalaswami said at a press conference flanked by the other two commissioners Naveen Chawla and S Y Quraishi.

He said the commission is still assessing the situation in Jammu and Kashmir.

“We will get back to you as soon as we take a decision in Jammu and Kashmir. Forces are one part of the issues. There are so many other issues. I do not want to say anything more," he said.

Asked whether it meant that elections will not be held before March because of winter, the CEC said “that you leave it to us". PTI
